Ebony and Ivory...PSYCH!!!

So this is not only mine and Nathan's favorite commercial...it's a commercial for one of our most favorite shows. Enjoy!

Yes. We love Psych. It's so funny and the characters are quarky...and it's a good clean tv show...imagine that...oh wait! You don't have to, they post the episodes online!

Here's the low down...according to Wiki. I'm trying to convince Nathan that naming our first son Wiki is a great idea.

"Psych is an American Comedy-Drama television series created by Steve Franks and broadcast on USA Network. The show stars James Roday as Shawn Spencer, a young crime consultant for the Santa Barbara, California Police Department (SBPD) whose "heightened observational skills"[1] and impressive detective instincts allow him to convince people that he is psychic. The program also stars Dulé Hill as Shawn's best friend, straight man, and reluctant partner Burton "Gus" Guster, as well as Corbin Bernsen as Shawn's captious father, Henry."

They also have a great theme song. A number of times, I have thought about looking up the words to the theme song...so for this post...I did! Thank goodness for the internet...SO much great "research" information at our googley and yahooy finger tips.

The song is "I Know You Know" performed by series creator Steve Franks and his band, the Friendly Indians. Again, Enjoy. And make sure you enjoy it more than once. Once to read the lyrics with the song and once to watch the video with the song.

These lyrics are from Yahoo answer's "best guess."

yes,
In between the lines there's a lot of obscurity,
I'm not inclined to resign to maturity,
If it's all right, then you're all wrong,
But why bounce around to the same down song?
You'd rather run when you can't crawl.

I know, you know, that I'm not telling the truth.
I know, you know, they just don't have any proof.
Embrace the deception, learn how to bend,
Your worst inhibitions tend to psych you out in the end.

I know, you know,
I know, you know,
I know, you know,
I know, you know.

One thing I noticed since, now I know the lyrics...everything that is going on in the clips from the show go along with the lyrics! GENIUS!

One more aspect that I TOTALLY love about this show. Shawn always comes up with some crazy off the wall cover name for Gus. Below is a clip of the nicknames. And by the way I LOVE the way Gus says Shawn so the last half is a bunch of Shawn's by Lavender Gooms...I mean The Candy Striper Nicknack...I mean Gus.

Anyway, so I could go on all day about this great show...but I think that's enough.

Ha, I'll have to check out this show, I don't have cable, but at least it's online. The last clip was really funny!! I think Wiki or Shawn Freitas are both good names. ;)

Shantell! I kept seeing clips of Shawn and Gus on that stage, dressed like that but, I've never seen that episode or that clip. Thanks for putting the link up it is hilarious!

Sorry to say that Gus isn't Bud, although there is a resemblance. The guy on Psych is Dulé Hill, who was also from The West Wing. Bud was played by Deon Richmond.

We are also huge fans of the Cosby show. Did you know that they sell ALL 7 seasons of the Cosby Show on DVD for about $60.00. I'm seriously thinking about getting it for Nathan and saving it for next Christmas.

On the theme of Bud and Gus - "Bud" was on "Sister, Sister" and I'm surprised to read he's still making movies (some post production something from 08) because we'd heard he'd been in a fatal accident.
"Gus" is the onion guy from "Holes"

Yo! I have been trying to comment on this post forever and coming back every day to try and this is the first day it was available to me... What the heck?!!!
Anyway, I've never seen it, though I have seen comercials for it, but I'm not sure how because I'm pretty sure we don't get USA channel. I could be wrong though. I have to try watching online, though that hasn't been working well for me lately... I think my computer is a real piece of poop!!! Which would you rather - get a new computer, or fix your bathroom floor? Or blow it all off and head for Disney Land?.........
