What do you love about the holidays?

OH NOOOOO!!!! The holidays are over! No more paid holidays until who knows when?

I love the holiday season. I feel like it all starts with my birthday in September! Then Halloween, which I mostly just like because of all the CANDY!!! It will be fun to dress up a little girl next October and take her trick or treating. These aren't paid holidays but, they are pretty fun!

I love Thanksgiving and reflecting on all the blessings in my life...there are SO MANY when I stop and think about it. And it's nice to get paid to spend two days with my family...that rocks! You all know how I feel about turkey, stuffing and gravy...so I won't go there. But, I do like Thanksgiving!

Then, Nathan's birthday in the first part of December! It's been fun to buy gifts for my husby. I love having a husband!!! Especially the one I picked!

Then Christmas Eve and Christmas Day!!! There is something special about the feeling you get when you are giving. We didn't have much money this year so we weren't able to give a lot but it felt good to give! And even if those we gave to didn't realize it, we tried to make the gifts we gave more meaningful.

For the past two Christmases we have been able to spend time with both of our families. We have Christmas Eve dinner with Nathan's family who has a tradition of eating by candle light! It is so fun! My family has a tradition of having Brunch Christmas day around 11:00. I love being close to both and being able to make it to both feasts!!!

I don't like decorating for Christmas. I know that's a little scroogy or grinchy to say, but it's just so much effort. Maybe I'll change my ways when I have my own house and own collections of decorations that I just love and can't wait to take the time to display. We'll see.

I love New Years! We usually play games and eat A LOT with my family. This year I was not let down...had lots of fun and ate A LOT!

I really like reflecting on the past year and setting goals to do better this year. I'd share my goals, but they are the usual goals.

Happy New Year Everyone!!!

OHHHH Noooo! I have to go back to work tomorrow! I know I got way more time off than you did, but I didn't get paid for any of it. You are so lucky.

I agree with the decorating part of Christmas. It is just that much more stuff around. Adding to the stuff that is already there.
