Have you seen that new show on CBS called "Undercover Boss?" Basically CEO's and Owners of really large companies go undercover in their own company for a week. The purpose is for them to be able to actually see and experience what goes on at each level in their company. The "reason" that the show gives the workers, for the camera's following the new guy around, is that they are doing a show about what it is like for an entry level position employee in America (fake reason). Also, they have the CEO's and Owner's change their appearance and take the necessary steps so they won't be recognized: shave, leave their Corvette at home, wear cheaper clothes, stay in a cheap motel, etc.
I think this show is fascinating because the CEO's have a hard time doing the nitty-gritty work. They sometimes catch on, but when they do, it's after quite sometime of practice. I also find it interesting because the workers don't know they are working with the biggest boss of the company. They reveal things about their struggles in and outside of work. Many times the CEO's/Owners make personal connections with employees. The CEO's are inspired to make amazing changes in the company and some even give the people they made special connections with full paid vacations, scholarships, or other nice things.
This show made me think about my job. Being a mom. I thought, hmmm, I don't have a "big boss" so who would be undercover to watch me work? And then I started thinking about Heavenly Father being my "big boss." He is, isn't he? And he doesn't even go undercover to work by my side each and everyday. He knows my struggles and He helps me make amazing changes and blesses me in more ways than I even recognize. He literally, (paraphrased Malachi 3:10) "opens the windows of heaven, and pours me out blessings, that I do not have room enough to receive." That's because I pay my tithing...and because He loves me. Way better than a CEO or Owner.
I think that is so so so fascinating! What a wonderful and comforting blessing to know that Heavenly Father is your co-worker! (and mine!)
I love that show. But, even more, I love my Heavenly Father.

Becky, I have really enjoyed watching that show too. :) Thank you so much for sharing your insight, I really appreciate it. It is good to be reminded continually how blessed we truly are and that we are never alone.
I haven't seen the show yet, but I really want to.
I really, really like your insight. In Gospel Principles we had a lesson on tithing a week or so ago and I was amazed that even though I pay my tithing that I needed to hear about the blessings AGAIN. Why is it we so often forget the best coworker we have? And, that he is showering us with blessings every.single.day.
Great post.
When I read the post title, I instantly thought, "I love this show. I wonder what she has to say about it." You always inspire me Becky. I never, ever would have thought about the show like that. Going through life with our 'undercover boss' is fascinating and it makes me want to be the best wife, daughter, mother, sister, friend, cousin, etc, b/c then I'll deserve the blessings that coming pouring in. I love you and thank you for your amazing insight.
I have never seen or heard of the show but all I can say is Amen Becky!!!
