Dec. 23? Stocking suggestion? The Doctor. A Vegetale Recommendation

How is it already December 23? The days are slipping away, left and right!

********

Nate and I put a $ limit on our stockings this year...just so they would be evenly weighted. If you know what I mean. I think he is done! I should be done, but all I have gotten him so far is stuff that he can eat! I still have about $15 left...any suggestions?

By the way, I asked him if he would be disappointed if all he got in his stocking was stuff to eat? He thought for a minute and then said, "No. Just don't expect me to share." Smart man, point taken. I shall remove half of everything, BEFORE I stuff his stocking.

********

Since I'm 30 now I thought it would be a good idea to get a full physical and make sure everything is on the up and up. Going to the doctor used to not bother me but this time I got super nervous. Is that weird?

I blame Nathan. He hates going to the doctor, but who would blame a diabetic for hating the doctor? Not me! (oooo, did I just blame him?)

I think one of the things that made me nervous was all the tests. I hate getting blood drawn because I have THE WORST, MOST ELUSIVE veins EVER!!! Not even kidding. Did you know that a single phlebotomist can only poke you three times, then someone else gets three tries. I've known this for years, because most times it take two people. This time it took two people and they still didn't get enough blood so I had to leave and return two days later so that one of them could try again.

Now you are all wondering how I am. I am...how do you say...healthy as a horse.

The test result I was most interested in knowing the result: Cholesterol, most specifically my LDL.

Result: 79! That's excellent! Or I should say optimal.

Only recommendation the doctor gave was that I lose weight. Point taken, I shall start January 1.

One of my new favorite Vegetales: The Strange Case of Dr. Jiggle and Mr. Sly. So hilarious!!! If you haven't seen it, you should seriously look into how you might cop a viewing.
Best song: "I Want To Dance!"
This tale is found on "The Snoodle's Tale." And we discovered it on "Lessons From the Sock Drawer" which we borrowed from the library!

Ok, let me see if I can remember everything...I'm with you on the unbelievability of it being Dec. 23rd already, so I don't have a comment besides that one.

As for Nathan's stocking...I get stuff like shaving cream, toothbrushes, razor blades, toothpaste (small travel size tubes), a cheap DVD (sometimes walnast has them for $5 or less). That's what I do.

Physical...Yeah!! If I went to the doctor and had a full physical, I'm thinking I'd have similar results, weight loss encouragement and all!!

I can't remember the other things, so hopefully someone else will comment on those. Or I'll leave another comment!! Love you and I'm SO so very glad you are healthy as horse.

I too am so glad you're like a horse. ;-p The vein business though, Oh that is so too bad you go through that. I don't have troubles with veins etc but more and more I am nervous to go to the doctor but I go and that is a very good thing. Good for you for going!

I'm with Amy on the stocking stuffers - I think toiletries make great stocking stuffers. How about coupons - home made - I never do this but it's an idea. Do you have room for pots anywhere? I was thinking seeds could be fun. I like cross word puzzles so I always get myself one of those magazine rack puzzle books to put in my own stocking. CD or movie like Amy suggested - one of our favorites is The Big Green - it is old and maybe not expensive.

Yeah - wow - it's the 23rd already. That makes tomorrow Christmas Eve.

We love Vegetales here - seriously we do - and we are going to look for that video!

A new tie for church?

Is that weird? (the fact that the doctor made me totally nervous this time)
That is a little weird, but now that you got great results, next time you'll be exited to see that you are maintaining optimum health!

Would you blame a diabetic for hating the doctor?
Seriously? NO! Poor guy!

I love assignments. So straightforward and motivating.

-It is December 23 because 23 days have passed since December 1. Pretty simple.

-Stocking stuffer: $15 is the perfect amount of money to go buy a fun game you two can play together! I suggest Bananagrams.

-Not weird to feel nervous about the doc. What if he told you that you had cancer or a tumor or were PREGNANT?!

-No.

I'm a diabetic, and the only reason I hate going to the doctor is because they tell me stuff that I have known longer than they have been out of medical school, and they usually say, "being a diabetic is hard." Yep! Thanks.

december 23rd-- because that's what happens after the 22nd. hahaha!

stocking: lingerie for you-

physicald: fat people are harder to kidnap, so tell your doctor you are planning to eat more chocolate, as a reassurance.
